Mr. Murphy currently serves as a senior resident fellow for the Urban Land Institute (ULI) specializing in public policy, retail/urban entertainment, transportation/infrastructure, housing, real estate finance and environmental issues. Since 2006 he has served as ULI's gulf coast liaison helping the leadership and public of New Orleans to advance rebuilding recommendations made by ULI. Prior to serving as a ULI fellow, Mr. Murphy served three terms as the mayor of Pittsburgh, initiating a public-private partnership strategy that leveraged more than $4.5 billion in economic development in Pittsburgh.
