A clarification in the new regulations is that both the father and mother now may each take 12 weeks of leave due to the birth or adoption of a child, if the child has a serious health condition, even if they are both employed by the same employer. This is a change from the previous regulations which only allowed a total of 12 weeks of combined leave for parents employed by the same employer. |
