Michael A. Piette is a member of the Firm's Economic & Land Development, Financial Services, Housing Resources and Real Estate practice groups.  His practice involves a wide variety of matters in the fields of commercial real estate, including transactions involving the acquisition, financing, development, leasing and exchange of commercial real estate, real estate titles and low income housing tax credit transactions.  He has counseled and negotiated on behalf of lending institutions, not-for-profit entities and commercial owners in connection with the closing of sophisticated forms of financing, including various loan and grant transactions involving industrial development agencies and/or Federal and State agencies. His practice also involves environmental and land use regulation matters, including brownfield redevelopment.

In 2013, Mr. Piette was selected by Family & Children's Service of Niagara to receive the E. Marie Davis Volunteer Award. The award is presented to individuals who embody the spirit of volunteer service and made a difference for the agency and the community.

Mr. Piette was also recognized as the Best Lawyers’ "Lawyer of the Year" in the category of Land Use & Zoning for Buffalo, NY.

Mr. Piette is a 2012 recipient of the Skip Helfrich Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by Leadership Niagara.
